Origins of Tribal Tattoos

Many many years ago, Tribal Tattoos  underwent the process of evolution they have been revived from one culture to another. The original tattoos continue to display the artistic and stylish black shaped stripes that are still common now-a-days.
Many of these ancient-styled tattoo patterns have given away to swirling design, spikey ones, knots appearance, and pole designs that is a product of the creator’s imagination compared to most of the original and ancient tribal ones.
The tribal art tattoos originated from the ancient tribes like those of the Celtics  from Ireland, Wales or Scotland, the Maori Tribe (New Zealand’s indigenous people), The tribe of  Haida (Ancient Civilization of North’ America’s West Coast), the inhabitants of the Marquises Islands and Borneo Tribe. Native Americans also made use of tribal tattoos for their tribal rank identification, wealth, affiliation in their tribe, inheritance, society role and bravery deeds.

The Celts
The Celts who inhabited the English Isles in 55 B.C. before the Roman invasion under Julius Caesar, were a proud, warrior class. The Celts gave the Romans a pain in their rear that they built the Hadrian Wall to keep them away. The endless knots that has an inside and out outlines design, give the Tribal tattoos of the Celtics a strong identification.

Maori Tribe
The tribes of Maori who migrated from the Eastern Polynesia from 800 to 1300 AD. They were also the first settlers of New Zealand. They have formulated their own communication language. They were savage and proud warriors of their tribe. The warfare between the tribes was their way of living and those who were very unlucky and were conquered,
have faced slavery and sometimes they were killed and eaten! They were exempted by the British from mobilization in the second World War. However, about 17,000 of the Maori Natives volunteered themselves! The ta moko, or The traditional tribal tattoo of the Maori tribe, this is designed with bold spiral graphics which covered the face. The process of tattooing was a ritual for the tribe, which made the use of chisels formed from bones for the tattoo procedure, which was most probably, extremely painful!

Haida
The tribe of Haida Indians of North America who were known to be expert
sea travelers and fishermen, they inhabited by the side of the coasts of Alaska and British Columbia. They are also well known to be as expert artisans of wood and metal designs. These people were formidable warriors who have kidnapped slaves for as far as in the south of California. Their Tribal tattoos replicated pictures of the Indian astrological figures, fish, bears, and beavers etc. The style of their tattoo is powerful and very masculine.
